our FARMIES

Take a look at our resident farm animals at Flesherton Farmhouse.

We have a variety of 'farmies' who have come into our lives in one way or another, from chickens to cows, we love all of them dearly, and strive to give them the best life possible!

The animals of Flesherton Farmhouse remind us that they are not to be used for
our purposes, but individuals with their own, needs.

ANNIE
Holstein Heifer
2022

Annie is what started our farm sanctuary journey, she was our first resident as a 2-month old baby, who was found in the middle of the road in Innerkip, ON by the OPP.

She ended up at Hillside Kennels where she remained unclaimed even though the owners were contacted - that's when we were asked if we would take her!

BENJAMIN
Jersey Steer
2023

It has always been a 'dream' per say to save the unfortunate bull calves from the dairy industry, where they are often discarded because they are worth nothing other than veal, or a breeding bull.

At three days old, we picked up Benjamin and his brother Jeremy from a dairy farm in Listowel, ON - for only $10 each, they now have a brighter future on the farm!

spring
Vietnamese Pot Belly
2018

Spring, was looking for a forever home, after she was left behind when a tenant was evicted from their home in London, ON.

The week before we picked her up, she surprisingly gave birth to four (4) piglets, two of which are still with us, and the other two went to another sanctuary up North, who have them as apart of an educational / support program.

WILBUR
Vietnamese Pot Belly
2023

Wilbur is smaller than Charlotte and a lot more reserved, when it comes to new people.

Him and his sister Charlotte are two peas in a pod and although we were not expecting to have more than one pig when we agreed to take in Spring - we are happy that she has her children to keep her company as she lives out her life on the farm.

dolly
Dorset
2024

Dolly was born on a commercial breeding farm in Southgate, ON. We took her and another lamb; Audrey, in as bottle babies, and we fortunate to build a great bond with them.

Dolly loves attention, and still believes that you should have a bottle for her to fed on. To tell the two girls apart, Dolly doesn't have a docked tail.

minnie
Suffolk
2024

Minnie was born and abandoned by her mom on a farm in Melancthon, ON, she was taken in by a friend of the family and they bottle raised her.

Unfortunately, Minnie had outgrown her home and was looking for a forever home where she could learn to be a sheep!

THEODORE
Hampshire x Clubby
2025

He was born to an ewe who had triplets, unfortunately, when the farmer came out to check on them, the siblings had been crushed by their mom and Theo was the only survivor and it was safe to say she wasn't thrilled about being a mom.

Theodore & Harold came from the same commercial breeding farm, and have been bottle raised from just a week old.

eunice
Pygmy x Nigerian
2022

Eunice was our first goat, that came from a local friend / goat breeder - his mom abandoned him at birth, and he required someone to bottle feed him.

Eunice has sparked a love for goats that I never knew I had, he is sassy, insanely smart!

GIDGET
Pygmy x Nigerian
2020

Gidget came from the same farm as Eunice and Rigby. Our friend / local goat breeder was unfortunately forced to rehome her goats when she had to move.

We welcomed Gidget, Jack, and Noddy in the summer of 2025 as permanent residents on the farm. Their transition was seamless, and it was like they were destined to be here.

JACK
Nigerian x
2023

Jack is a beautiful soul, who is incredibly gentle and loving. Jack unfortunately had a series of accidents as a young kid, and broke his leg multiple times, in the end he received a leg amputation.

We welcomed Jack, Noddy, and Gidget in the summer of 2025 as permanent residents on the farm. Their transition was seamless, and it was like they were destined to be here.

ETHEL
Holstein Heifer
2022

Once we brought Annie to the farm, she did well for a few months, but knowing that cows are herd animals, she required a friend.

Ethel was purchased, when she was being advertised as a breeding heifer, which isn't the life we envisioned for her. Now she gets to live our her life on the farm with her best friend.

CHARLOTTE
Vietnamese Pot Belly
2023

Charlotte is a spunky, curious little lady who is still learning that people are not scary. She is a spitting image of her mom!

Her and her brother Wilbur are two peas in a pod and although we were not expecting to have more than one pig when we agreed to take in Spring - we are happy that she has her children to keep her company as she lives out her life on the farm.

AUDREY
Dorset
2024

Audrey was born on a commercial breeding farm in Southgate, ON. We took her and another lamb; Dolly, in as bottle babies, and we fortunate to build a great bond with them.

Audrey loves attention, however, she is very confident on her own, and won't mow you down to see you. To tell the two girls apart, Audrey has a docked tail (not by our choice).

WINIFRED
Dorset
2024

Winifred was born on a Mennonite farm in Drayton, ON. A good friend and animal lover saw her advertisement on Kijiji, listed as a 'healthy lamb for butcher' - for only $100.

We took one look at the
disabled girl, and knew we needed to bring her to the farm - it took a lot of teamwork, but we are elated that we have her, and able to give her a long life.

HAROLD
Dorset x Rideau
2025

He was born to the oldest ewe on the farm on one of the coldest nights, and she wanted nothing to do with him, so he was removed from her immediately.

Harold & Theodore came from the same commercial breeding farm, and have been bottle raised from just a week old.

KEVIN
Suffolk
2026

A 3-day-old bottle baby who was being sold and at risk of going to auction. And I think we can all agree, an environment like that isn’t suitable for many animals, let alone a tiny baby who still needs a bottle and round-the-clock care.

Kevin is the friend Sammy didn’t know he needed.

WYATT
Pygmy x Nigerian
2023

Wyatt came from a farm in Orangeville, ON - where his mom unfortunately passed from a really bad breach birth. He was born with crocked back legs, that have thankfully corrected themselves as he has aged.

Wyatt is a community favourite, and he has met many people as he accompanied me on many errands in town.

ZIPPY
Pygmy x Nigerian
2023

Zippy came from the same farm as Eunice and Rigby. Our friend / local goat breeder decided to get out of breeding and she was looking to downsize her herd.

We decided to bring both Zippy and his brother Clyde to the farm and their stark personality differences are very comical. Zippy is a trouble-maker and is more brave in new situations.

SAMMY
Nigerian
2026

Sammy was a bottle baby being sold in Varney, ON - and although it took me quite a while to actually reach out and bring him home. It was a great decision not only for Sammy, but for me and my soul.

After a hard summer, Sammy has been such an incredible addition to the farm - the best cuddler we've ever had here.
